Physics of the Impossible
Lecture [Return to listing page]
with Michio Kaku, co-founder of string field theory, professor of physics, and author of Physics of the Impossible.
Wednesday, April 30, 2008 | 7:00 pm

One hundred years ago, lasers, televisions, and computers seemed physically impossible. Today, teleportation and invisibility seem equally far-fetched. Renowned physicist Michio Kaku explores how mind reading, the routine use of force fields, and other feats that are currently science fiction may become commonplace tomorrow. Book signing to follow.

This event is part of the second annual Cambridge Science Festival, the first and only full-scale celebration of science and technology in the United States. This year's festival runs from April 26 through May 4. For updated details and schedule of events: cambridgesciencefestival.org.

Museum members may reserve a limited number of free seating tickets in advance. Ticket availability is limited to the number of Exhibit Halls admissions permitted with your membership card. For member reservations, call between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Monday or Tuesday of the week of the program only: [masked].

This program is free thanks to the generosity of the Lowell Institute. Additional funding is provided by the Barbara and Malcolm L. Sherman Fund for Adult Programs.

Who attended?

    •  I went with my girlfriend.. It was a good lecture. Other than the moment when Dr. Kaku said anyone who doesn't think we should have a "type 1" civilization monetary system (ie EU, NAFTA, NAU), control all aspects of our planet (ie weather earthquakes volcano's) is a TERRORIST!!!!!! He is a smart man, and I like listening and learning from him,,, But he is with out a doubt NWO through and through...imo.... And I know I'm wrong,, but I swear David Rockefeller was there and talked to me for a moment, and I thought to my self.... "wtf. Is that david rockefeller". I'm sure it wasn't him, but it looked like him.lol Only real downer was when I bought his book, The register didn't have any money in it to give me my $11 change. My girlfriend was waiting in the book signing line for me and was right up at the front, so the clerk told me to just get the book signed and he'll give me the money when he gets it. I got my book signed, took a picture, and left. AND FORGOT MY CHANGE!!
